President Abdel
Fattah Al Sisi inaugurated, via video conference, the Water Network and Plant
of Dar El Salam in Sohag, which serves the city of Dar El Salam and its
villages, benefiting about 350,000 people until 2040 at a cost of 245 million
EGP. The plant was built upon ??12 feddans, with a capacity of 70 thousand m?/day, which is estimated at 700 liters/sec. and consists 190ml (2 pipelines
with diameter 1000 mm)- turbidity water building – distribution well - 4 clarifiers - 2 filters - 2 ground tanks-
Pumped water filters and transformers - buildings adjoin to the plant - diesel buildings
- chemical building – workshop - warehouse and administrative building - Fuel
tank – mosques – gate - guard room and fences, as well as networks works (83 kilo
approximately) entered service (57 kilo) diameters from 355 to 1200 mm and 33 culverts
and 3 culverts beneath the highway and Easter lake of Nagaa Hammadi and 96
rooms for the network and 36 for washing rooms. The President also inaugurated
via the video conference the Al Yousr Water Desalination Plant in Hurghada,
which was implemented by the Arab Contractors Company - Red Sea Branch and the
Engineering Authority for the Armed Forces with a production capacity of 80
thousand m?, at a cost of 750 million EGP. It is the
largest in Egypt and the Middle East. The station was established at the site
of the old Al Yousr Plant, which was established in the 1980s and did not
exceed the capacity of 3 thousand m?, while the new station was according to the
latest scientific methods in this area, which is the process of reverse osmosis
(RO) with the final treatment of calcite filters and carbon dioxide injection
system to treat water according to the Ministry of Health standards to maintain
water quality and conform to the World Health Organization. The entire station
is electronically monitored for the maintenance of equipment and water quality.
The Arab Contractors designed and implemented the sea pump for the station for
the withdrawal of 240,000 m?/day saline water, 80,000 m?/day desalinated water is produced and 160,000 m?/day of highly saline water is produced and the source of the septic
tank is 2 lanterns consisting of perforated pipes and special parts of high
density polyethylene 1200 mm diameter installed inside a block of reinforced concrete
with a weight of 180 tons - one lantern to withdraw the amount of 120 thousand
m3 / day salt water collected by the light of the outlet of the station, the
lines of withdraw from the lanterns and even the drawer of the terminal in the
station is the 2 towing line for sea water diameter 1200 mm with a total length
of 430m and consists of 300m concrete pipes lined with polyethylene inner
diameter 1200 perforated drainage method, in addition to 130m high density
polyethylene pipes diameter 1200 mm under the surface the sea . The surface of
the socket is 900m? and 13m below the ground level. It has been
implemented in the way of the diaphragm wall, which is collecting the salty
water. High-density polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 630mm with a total
length of 1325m implemented in a batch-driven manner to discharge 160,000 m?/day of highly saline water, ending with lines for distribution of water
inside the sea and not concentrated in one place. As for the storage tanks of
20 thousand m? and the pumping station serving the city
networks and the general location of the station consists of a storage tank
capacity of 20 thousand m? and pumps for the city networks and 2
residential building: (ground floor - four typical floors), power buildings for
the transformers - generators – phase plates - internal networks (irrigation – water
for firefighting - drainage); in addition to the work of the public site,
roads, fences and gates.
