Minister of Interiors inaugurated Cairo Security Building in Bab El Khalq after its restoration and sustain works according to the state of the art security systems after the terroristic accident on January 2014.
The inauguration ceremony started with a documentary movie about the building's historical background, development and restoration. The building includes 7 floors and 357 rooms. The Minister praised the exhorted efforts of the Cairo Governorate and the Arab Contractors Company for providing the required support for the ministry and contributing in accelerating the development process resulting this brilliant appearance of the building.
Eng. Mohsen Salah stated that the work in the project took 2 years with a total cost 90 million EGP. The AC condensed the work shifts to accomplish the restoration and development works of the whole building. It is noteworthy that 400 engineers, technicians and workers participating in the restoration of this building according to the latest technique in the building and construction field.
Eng. Soliman Younis – Head of Greater Cairo Sector and Eng. Sayed Shendi – Manager of the Distinguished Buildings added that the development and sustaining works include the restoration and increasing the capacity of the concrete structure for the directorate and investigation buildings, rehabilitation of the finishing works, facades, landscaping of the work site, steel and concrete curved wall for the external protection, guarding towers, modifying the unused spaces, fire alarm and firefighting networks, rehabilitation of the drainage for the sanitary works, electrical works, voice call system, CCTV, telecommunication system, lifts and air-conditioning.
