Eng. Mohsen Salah – AC Chairman, Eng. Sayed Faouk – Senior Vice President , Eng. Emam Afifi – Vice President, Dr. Roushdy Taher and Eng. Tarek Saqr – Board Members toured the development works of Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road and transmission into Free Roadway (7th Sector) from kilo 190 to the intersection of El Ta'meer Corridor (Carrefour ) kilo 220 from Cairo/Alex Road. They were following up the project schedule which expected to be executed by the end of June.
It is noteworthy that the project total empowerment is more than 2500 engineers, technicians and workers from the different branches and department of the AC. The total value of the executed works of the bridges and roadways works during the last 25 days reached EGP 180 million. It includes 10 bridges on both sides with a total cost EGP 800million, the total work done till now with a total value EGP 550 million. The works of Margham Bridge were accomplished; besides the implementation of the concrete works for 2 bridges of Aboul Kheir: 95% for the 1st bridge and 75% for the 2nd bridge. Moreover, the accomplishment ratio of the Al Agami Bridge reached 80%, 70% of Borg El Arab Bridge inlet and 50% El Amiryia Bridge were implemented. In addition to the above mentioned accomplishments, the AC workshops implemented the manufacturing of the bridges portions (12 000 ton weights).
Besides, the AC executed road works with a total value EGP 500 million with a total length 30km on both sides. The works on the 7th sector include the widening of the road through the construction of 2 lanes on each side (each road has 4 lanes).
Thus, the works still ongoing overpoweringly to execute works on time according to the condensed schedule settled by the Ministry of Transportation. Its expected accomplishment will be on the end of June 2015.
