President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Touring Alexandria East Wastewater Treatment Plant

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a surprise visit to Alexandria to follow up the taken actions for facing the flood. He toured the expansion of Alexandria East Wastewater Treatment Plant which aiming at serving East and Middle region in Alexandria.
Ambassador Alaa Youssef – Presidency spokesman stated that the President give direction to dedicate one billion EGP from Tahya Misr Fund to finance an Emergency Plan executed by the interested ministries in cooperation with the Armed Forces to increase the capacity of the wastewater and agriculture drainage networks  in Alexandria and Behira.
It is noteworthy that Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant in Alexandria is one of huge wastewater plants in the governorate and the 2nd mega plant in Egypt. It is purified 850 thousands m?/day; nowadays it reached million m?/day. The purified water is secondary treated using modern technique to be recycled and used in the irrigation of the public parks. Its total value is EGP 1.5 billion.
