The Arab Contractors Company under the auspicious of the Engineering Authority for the Armed Forces has implemented 15 grain silos with storage capacity of 60000 tons. It was within the works of the first phase which includes 25 grain silos of the United Arab Emirates' grant as a gift for Egypt. This grant is the grain silos of: Sherbeen in Dakahlia, Damanhour in El Behira, Hehia in Sharqia, Berqash in Giza, El Qantara Sharq in North Sinai, Meet Ghamr in Dakahlia, El Sheikh Fadhl in Menia, Tanta in El Gharbia, Menouf in El Monofiya, Bahnsa in El Menia, El Mafalsa in Aswan… they are follow the Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage which is belonging to the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade; the grain silos of Tamia in El Fayoum, Sharq El Awinat in New Valley, Banha in Qalioupia and El Sabahiya in Alexandria which belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
Within the framework of the Saudi loan's projects, the Arab Contractors Company implemented Borg El Arab Grain Silo in Alexandria (90000 tons storage capacity), El Hamamm Silo in Marsa Matrouh (45000 tons storage capacity), El Kharga Grain Silo in New Valley (45000 tons storage capacity), Arab El Olikat Silo in Qalioupia (90000 tons storage capacity), Fayed Silo in Ismailia (30000 tons storage capacity), Sidi Ghazi Silo in Kafr El Sheikh (60000 tons storage capacity), and San El Hagr Silo in Sharqia (60000 tons storage capacity).
Borg El Arab Grain Silo:
The designing, construction, civil works, manufacturing, supplying, installation, start-up tests, spare parts and start-up for metal silos with storage capacity of 45000 tons , a turnkey project which includes (18 silos – 2 security chambers – water tank – pumps room – electricity room – storage – spare parts building – mosque – workshop – loading silos – the scale – pit intake).
El Hamamm Silos:
The construction of 9 cone based silos with 45000 storage capacity in El Hamamm City in Marsa Matrouh. The project comprises the followings: (9 cone based silos – tower cranes – main tunnels – pit intakes - truck scale – loading silos – dust silos – administrative building – mosque – washing room – firefighting tank – pumps room - electricity room – workshops building - spare parts building – storage building – control room of the truck scale – control room of the machines towers – 2 security chambers – wall and guard towers – storage area 1750m2).
El Sabahiya Silos:
The project is about the construction of 12 metal silos for grain storage with a total capacity of 60000 tons. It includes the followings: (the tower cranes  - main tunnels – pit intakes - truck scale – loading silos – dust silos – administrative building – mosque – washing room – firefighting tank – pumps room - electricity room – workshops building - spare parts building – storage building – control room of the truck scale – control room of the machines towers – 2 security chambers – wall and guard towers).

The national project of grain silos is aiming at eliminates the quantitative and qualitative waste of grain which resulting from its storage in open barns amounts to 10%, causing great losses to the government . The modern developed barns will save, store and grade the grain. There will not be a wheat grain in the open area. It will filter, purify and store the wheat, manage the storage in a good way, reduce its waste, the classification of the Egyptian wheat to degrees and issuance of origin certificate for the cultivation of the finest. Each silo has 12 storage units with a capacity of 5000 tons for each; it includes: the pit intakes–belt conveyors for wheat through the different units of the silo – purification equipment for wheat – sifting equipment – truck scale – weighting scale for wheat - dust extraction system and isolate from the air through filter and store it in special storages for preserving environment.
