Arab Contractors signs Mutanda-Mwinilunga Road Rehabilitation Contract in Zambia

Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Nelson Chuma – RDA CEO signed a contract for the rehabilitation and development of the 85 km Mutanda-Mwinilunga Road during an official ceremony in the presence of Eng. Jito Kaumba - Assistant to the President of the Republic of Zambia for Projects, Ambassador Mayada Essam Abdel Rahman - Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Zambia, a representative of the Zambian Ministry of Infrastructure, Eng. Mohamed Elwi – AC Board Member, and Eng. Ahmed Mahmoud - Managing Director of Arab Contractors Company in Zambia.
In his speech, Eng. Ahmed El Assar thanked the political leadership in Egypt and Zambia for strengthening relations between the two countries and the Egyptian and Zambian governments. He praised the brotherly relations between the two countries and pledged that the company would make every effort to implement the project according to the highest international standards and within the scheduled time.
Ambassador Mayada Essam stated that the project is considered a bridge between Egyptian expertise and Zambian development aspirations through the first Arab Contractors project in the country.
This new project, which is the company’s first project in Zambia, represents the culmination of the company’s efforts through several rounds of discussions and memoranda of understanding that were signed during the Zambian president’s visit to Cairo. It is marking a major infrastructure milestone in North-Western Province.
The entry of the Arab Contractors into the Zambian market is a result of its leading role in implementing infrastructure and sustainable development projects in the African continent.
In his speech, Eng. Eugene Haazele – RDA Board Chairperson stated that the project is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and unlock economic opportunities for communities along the corridor. He says the upgraded road will enhance access to markets for farmers and businesses while strengthening regional trade and supporting long-term economic growth in the province.
Dr. Richard Banda – Acting PS, Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development stated that the Zambian government is committed to upgrading the road to world-class standards after years of challenges.
