Mr. Kashim Shettima - Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria inaugurated Kuje Highway on behalf of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, in the presence of Mr. Nyesom Wike – FCT Minister, and a number of senior officials, as part of the celebrations of the 3rd anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration, and the Day of Democracy in Nigeria.
For his part, Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of Arab Contractors Company, expressed his pride in implementing this vital project, stressing thatvital inauguration of the project reflects the great confidence that the Arab Contractors enjoys with the Nigerian government, thanks to its extensive technical and administrative expertise in implementing major infrastructure projects within the African continent.
Eng. Ahmed El Assar referred to his recent visit to Nigeria last May, during which he inspected the project, monitored its implementation rates, and ensured its readiness for inauguration. He emphasized that the project represents an important addition to the road network in the capital, Abuja, and contributes to enhancing transportation and supporting urban and economic development plans in the region.
He added that the Arab Contractors continues its commitment to providing the highest levels of quality in the implementation of the projects it undertakes, expressing his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with the various Nigerian authorities, and praising the efforts made by the company’s work team to complete the project according to the specified timetable and with the highest technical standards.
Eng. Mohamed Al Aidarous - Managing Director of the Arab Contractors Nigeria Ltd. Company added that the project is one of the main pillars supporting economic and social development, as it contributes to strengthening the connection between the capital Abuja and the surrounding areas and communities, as well as improving communication in Nasarawa State, which supports trade and investment and facilitates the movement of citizens, and linking the airport expressway to Kuje, which enhances the efficiency of the road and transport network in the region.
Eng. Wael Farouk – General Manager stated that the project is approximately 11km long with an average width of 48 m, and includes the construction of a dual-way asphalt road, in addition to the construction of two river crossing bridges, each 60 meters long, and two axial bridges, each 90 meters long, an integrated rainwater drainage network, and the implementation of lighting works along the road.
