Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim - Acting President of Alexandria University, and Eng. Mohamed El Qiaay - Head of Sector, Supervisor of the Arab Contractors Company Branch in Chad, signed an addendum to the contract for the completion of the construction work for the first phase of the university branch in N’Djamena, which includes the faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, within the framework of supporting Egyptian academic expansion in Africa. The signing was attended by Dr. Hisham Said - Vice President if the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Afaf Al Awfi - Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Gihan Gweifel - Assistant to the President of the University for Internationalization of Education and International University Branches, Dr. Mohamed Zaki – Former Branch Coordinator, Dr. Abdel Aziz Amara - Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Mohamed Nasr - Project Consultant. In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim stressed that this project comes as an extension of Alexandria University’s vision of opening up to its African surroundings and consolidating its role as a university with an active regional and international mission, noting that the university’s presence in Chad does not represent a mere geographical expansion, but rather a real investment in people and building bridges of knowledge and scientific cooperation between Egypt and sister countries. He added that the university pays great attention to this vital project, which contributes to preparing qualified personnel in the fields of agriculture and veterinary medicine, thus supporting development plans in Chad, stressing that this cooperation reflects the depth of academic and developmental relations between the two sides. He also praised the long-standing partnership with the Arab Contractors Company and its extensive experience in implementing national and international projects, stressing that this enhances the university’s ability to implement the project according to the highest quality standards and within the specified timeframes. Eng. Mohamed El Qiaay affirmed that the signing of the contract addendum for the completion of the construction of Alexandria University Branch in N’Djamena reflects the depth of fruitful cooperation between the company and the university in implementing educational projects with a developmental dimension in the African continent.
