The inauguration of the International Exhibition and Conference on Water Technology, Waste, and Infrastructure (IWWI 2025)

Eng. Sherif El Sherbini - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities inaugurated IWWI2025, held from November 23 to 25, 2025 at Egypt International Exhibition Center, featured the participation of more than 100 local and international companies. The opening ceremony was attended by Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab - Former Prime Minister of Egypt and former Assistant to the President for National and Strategic Projects; Dr. Sayed Ismail - Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Eng. Ahmed Gaber - Acting Chairman of the Holding Company; several ministry officials and international partners; Eng. Hassan Mustafa - Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company; Eng. Mohamed Elwi - Board Member; Eng. Sherif El Dessouki - Executive Board Member; Eng. Mohamed Ibrahim Bayoumi - Head of Helwan, Cairo, and Nasr City Sector; and Eng. Ahmed Ziada - Cairo Branch Manager, as part of the Arab Contractors’ participation alongside national entities supporting innovation and technology localization in the water sector. Following the opening, the Minister of Housing toured several participating pavilions, including the German pavilions, the Ministry's pavilion, and the pavilions of the Arab Organization for Industrialization and Military Production. He reviewed the advanced solutions offered by these companies in water treatment, smart control, digital transformation, and highly efficient local products for water and wastewater networks and stations. The Minister emphasized that IWWI 2025 aligns with the state's vision to enhance the efficiency of water resource management, support innovation, and localize technology. He described it as an international platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise in the water and wastewater sectors. He praised the development and competitiveness of the participating Egyptian companies, including the Arab Contractors Company, which continues its supportive role in infrastructure projects nationwide. Dr. Sayed Ismail - the Deputy Minister, highlighted the qualitative leap the sector is witnessing within the "Decent Life" initiative and the importance of integrating digital transformation and artificial intelligence into operations and maintenance. Mr. Frank Baumann - CEO of ExpoTech Group, expressed his pride in organizing the event in Egypt, emphasizing that Egyptian-German cooperation represents a successful model for knowledge transfer and supporting sustainable development. The exhibition spans over 10,000 m2 and features more than 100 exhibitors from various countries. It includes scientific and interactive sessions and workshops on the latest water treatment and desalination technologies and nature-based solutions, thus strengthening regional and international cooperation in this vital sector.
