As part of the celebration of Beni Suef Governorate's National Day, Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim - Beni Suef Governor, inaugurated the trial operation of the wastewater project in Belfia and Beni Hamad village, at a total cost of LE 60 million. The project was implemented by the Arab Contractors Company as part of the General Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation's plan to extend wastewater services to villages. The project serves 50,000 people in Belfia and Beni Hamad, as part of the national wastewater project for Beni Suef villages, and within the framework of the governmental development efforts.
The opening was attended by Eng. Atef Mahdi Badea - Head of the Executive Authority for Beni Suef Projects at the National Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater, Eng. Dina Omar Suleiman - Chairman of the Drinking Water and Wastewater Company, Eng. Yasser Sadek - Head of Assiut and North Upper Egypt Sector at the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Ahmed Abdel Fattah Ahmed – Manager of North Upper Egypt Branch implementing the works, Eng. Mohamed Khaled Abu Sheneiff – Manager of Beni Suef Projects, Eng. Rami Gamil Fahmy – Manager of Central Beni Suef Projects, and MP Mohamed Ragab Abdel Azeem.
Following the opening, the governor praised the quality of the project implementation, which includes a 150 litre/second capacity lifting station, gravity networks with a total length of 24,000 linear metres and diameters ranging from 160 mm to 700 mm, and HDPE force main with an internal diameter of 500 mm and a length of 4,770 metres from Belfia lift station to the existing Beni Affan lift station.
