Sherif El Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, reviewed the Arab Contractors Company projects in various fields in a number of governorates and new cities across the republic during the year 2024. The Minister of Housing explained that the projects included drinking water and wastewater networks and plants, roads and axes, ports, restoration of archaeological landmarks, implementation of infrastructure, smart transportation projects, public and educational buildings, hospitals, and others. Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny pointed out that the Arab Contractors Company has completed projects in the field of water and wastewater in more than 200 villages in 12 governorates, including the projects of the villages of the presidential initiative "Decent Life", within the framework of implementing the state's ambitious plans for sustainable development throughout the republic in accordance with the vision of the political leadership. Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny confirmed providing full support to the company to expand its projects, especially the projects that are being implemented in cooperation with our brothers in African countries, pointing out that Arab Contractors and similar contracting companies are the best ambassador for Egypt abroad, and one of the mechanisms for linking Egypt and cooperating with the African countries in various development projects. The Minister of Housing called for a significant increase in the implementation rates of the projects, especially since the company has a large portfolio of projects in Egypt and a number of African countries, and has recently succeeded in accomplishing many contracts with several countries. In this context, Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, reviewed the projects that were implemented in the Lower Egypt governorates, which included: Shiblanga and Kafr Abu Zahra Wastewater Station in Qalyubia, Atfih Wastewater Station in Giza, Al Jeddiya Wastewater Project in Rashid in Beheira, filtered water networks to feed the eastern and western villages of Saryaqos, the integrated wastewater project for 6 villages in Toukh, Aghour Al Sughra Wastewater Treatment Plant, Qarnfil and Al Baradaa Wastewater, and a 1400 mm gravity line in Sadat City. The Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company added that the projects being implemented in the Lower Egypt governorates include: several projects in Beheira Governorate with 11 villages in Rashid, an integrated wastewater project in Rashid, a wastewater project in Damanhour, Itay El Baroud stations, networks and force main, a wastewater project in Abu Samada - Abu Wafia in Dalengat, a wastewater project in Wadi El Natrun, Badr City stations, networks and force mains, the second phase of the expansion project of the drinking water station in 10th of Ramadan City to increase its capacity upto 1.2 million m3, 10th of Ramadan City drinking water, irrigation, wastewater networks and roads in districts no. 27 and 31, the transmission line from Kafr Soliman water station to the navigation channel and wastewater in the villages of Nawasriya, El Badrawy and Om El Rizq and Kafr Saad El Balad treatment plant in Daqahlia, a wastewater project in Abu Talat in Alexandria, the pumping station no. 10 - south of Dabaa axis, wastewater projects in 3 villages in Toukh, and a wastewater project in Estate and Al Monshaa El Kobra and Al Soghra, the filtered water station in Kafr Shokr, the filtered water lines in Kharga from Kafr Shokr water station, Qalola wastewater, Talin and Quba wastewater, expansion of Zagazig wastewater station, Khatatba and Kafr Dawoud wastewater; the networks, pumping stations and wastewater force mains of Kafr Dabous villages, wastewater (Al Sawalih, Manzel Naeem, Al Akhmeen, Al Namroot) in Faqoos in Sharqia, New Mansoura treatment plant, the expansion of Basion and Hessat Abar wastewater station, Al Aasayed wastewater, and Decent Life (Haya Karima) projects in Beheira - Phase II. Eng. Ahmed El Assar pointed out that the wastewater and water projects implemented in Upper Egypt governorates included: works of the Kajoug Kom Ombo wastewater plant and expansions of the Shalateen desalination plant (phases 1 and 2), including the sea intake, Gabl Shisha water station (Al Sadaqa and Al Jazeera pumping stations), 2 higher water tanks in New Teba, El Zeiniya wastewater plant and El Rayayna station in Luxor, Qift wastewater plant in Qena, the gravity networks of Nagou Bahri, wastewater projects in the village of Behbeshin in Nasser Center, the village of El Maymoun and Nazlet Genidi in El Wasta Center and the village of Bani Qassem in Biba Center in Beni Suef, the wastewater project in the village of Tanof in Deir Mawas Center in Minya Governorate, the infrastructure of New Valley University, which includes water lines, roads, wastewater and a water treatment plant, the first phase of the treatment plant and force mains in New Sohag with a capacity of 12,000 m3/day, and the wastewater of the village of Bani Hamil in Balyana. The Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company pointed out that the drinking water and wastewater projects being implemented in Upper Egypt governorates include: the force main and the final sedimentation projects in the village of Keman Al Mataana in Esna, a wastewater project for 16 villages in Dishna, Malawi wastewater project for 29 villages, expansions of the Ashment water station in Nasser Center in Beni Suef, the infrastructure project for the industrial zone in West Girga, and the presidential initiative projects "Decent Life" for the villages of: Abu Tig, Manfalut, Abnub and Al Fath in Assiut. In the field of monuments restoration, the Arab Contractors Company accomplished several projects including: the rehabilitation of Damietta Archeological Bridge, the restoration of Mansoura National Theater, and the renovation and development of Al Sayyida Zeinab Mosque. Besides, the ongoing projects such as: Al Fustat excavation project, Zeinab Khatoun House, and the revival of Azbakeya Historical Garden in Cairo, which aims to revive this historical garden, as part of the state’s efforts to restore the cultural splendor of many of Cairo’s different historical areas, renew the spirit and cultural and historical role of these areas, and enhance its touristic importance. In the field of smart transportation, the Arab Contractors Company participated in the implementation of Cairo Metro Line 3 - Phase 3C - which extends 7.1 km, and includes 5 stations: Tawfiqiya, Wadi El Nil, Arab League, Boulaq El Dakrour, and Cairo University. Cairo Metro Line 4 - phase 1 is currently being implemented, as the company leads the JV implementing the project, and is implementing the stations of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids, and Talbiya; in addition to excavation work of the tunnel extending from the Pyramids station to El Messaha station with a length of 6 km, besides continuing work on the first line of the High Speed Rail (Ain Sokhna - El Alamein – Marsa Matrouh - Fayoum) which is being implemented by the JV of Siemens, Arab Contractors and Orascom. It is 660 km long, and includes 22 stations, as the company is implementing a number of stations, most notably Cairo and 6th October stations, in addition to the railway works. Work is ongoing in 6 October Monorail project with a length of 43 km and includes 13 stations, and the railway fences to secure the stations and yards of the Egyptian Railways in Delta governorates and Alexandria till Marsa Matrouh. The canal cities have a total length of 39 km of new walls construction, and 8 km of heightened walls. Regarding roads and traffic axes, the achieved projects of the Arab Contractors Company include: Aswan Dam Alternative Axis Project (Section Two), which is a concrete bridge over the Nile, Ganbaway Bridge in Beheira Governorate as part of the development of Cairo/Alexandria Agricultural Road, Al Barageel Bridge, which represents the first sector of the new 26th of July Axis, Orabi Tunnel for cars under the railway in Zagazig City, which was built to connect the east and west of Zagazig City, and contribute to solving traffic congestion within the city, and works to reduce congestion during peak times, and development work on the Red Sea Airport Road. Eng. Ahmed El Assar added that the road and axes projects currently being worked on include: Daraw Axis on the Nile in Aswan, which is considered one of the important development projects. The project is 18 km long with 2 traffic lanes in each direction, the eastern regional road connecting Al Alaqy Road and the bridge, which is 22 km long and 8 meters wide to transport heavy transport outside Aswan, and Hassab Allah El Kafrawy Axis Extension Bridge on Maadi Corniche with a length of about 1208 meters to connect Cairo and Giza to shorten access to Cairo/Assiut Agricultural Road. Its total length is 1564 meters including exits and entries. Tahya Masr Bridge (Rod El Farag Axis) will be linked to Nubaria Axis with a length of about 1300 meters, road works in residential areas in Ebni Betak project in districts no. 12 and 14 in 10th of Ramadan City, pedestrian tunnel in Abu Kabir in Sharqia, a bridge over the railway crossing in Manqabad in Assiut with a length of 1900 meters, and the development and upgrading of Al Hilaly bridge in the eastern district of Assiut, and the development and upgrading of Faisal Bridge in the western district of Assiut. In ports and maritime works, the Arab Contractors Company accomplished many projects including: The New Container Terminal (Tahya Misr 1) in Damietta Port, which has been opened for operation, and Arish Port. This in addition to the under construction include: implementing maritime works at the Dabaa nuclear power plant project, marine life protection facilities, the marine barriers project for New Alamein, the coastal protection and reinforcement project from Bir Masoud to El Mahrousa in Alexandria, developing Ain Sokhna Port, Shalateen Fishing Port, and Abu Ramad Fishing Port. The energy projects included: a temporary workshops for the executing company for the manufacturing work required to prepare the raw materials used in the projects to construct the nuclear reactor buildings in Dabaa, the concrete structure for 14 buildings for Unit No. 2 in Dabaa, and the electrical transformer station project in New Abu Qir City, which consists of the civil works for the electrical transformer station. In the field of sustainable cities: The coastal towers project is being implemented in New Alamein City, which consists of 3 towers with a total area of 40000 m2. The infrastructure project for New Alamein City has been completed, including the implementation of wastewater and rain networks, feeding, irrigation, electricity and communications networks, transformer and distributor chambers, pumping stations, force mains, firefighting networks and participation in the implementation of integrated projects for Abu Qir infrastructure, which include drinking water, wastewater, electricity, and other projects, in addition to adding a new urban area to East Alexandria area. In the field of public and educational buildings and hospitals: The completed projects included Manchester Educational Building at Al Mouwasat Hospital in Alexandria University, the construction of the Police Hospital in Gharbia, the development of the headquarters of the Administrative Control Authority in Aswan, injuries and emergency hospital in Assiut University on an area of 2,200m2, and Sohag Mental Health Hospital with an area of about 2,880 m2 and a capacity of 74 beds; in addition to the ongoing projects: the emergency hospital at the medical complex in Menoufia University, CREATIVA – Innovation Hubs in Kafr El Sheikh, 3 medical centers in Daqahlia, the development of Spinning Factory No. 6 in El Mahalla El Koubra, finishing works at Mansoura International University for Science and Technology in New Mansoura, and Sky Hospital in New Cairo with an area of 4,500 m2 and a capacity of 200 beds, where work was carried out in two phases, the first of which was completed and work is ongoing at the second phase; and the Faculty of Law project at Sohag University on an area of 5,400 m2 and includes 40 classrooms, 3 lecture halls, 12 multi-use halls and various offices, the Faculty of Physical Education at Sohag University on an area of 6,000 m2, which includes 40 classrooms, 3 auditoriums, 10 multi-purpose halls, and various offices, Sohag Addiction Treatment Hospital on an area of 2,350 m2, and the general site is on an area of 3,600 m2, the Microscopic Surgery Hospital at Assiut University, and the expansion of the grain silos in Arab Al Awamer with a capacity of 40,000 tons, where 8 new silos are being added to bring the total capacity to 100,000 tons; the expansion work of Al Tarmassa grain silos with a capacity of 30,000 tons, and 6 silos are being added to increase the total capacity to 90,000 tons. In the agricultural and landscaping field, the achieved projects include: the agricultural, irrigation and tourist walkway works on the river strip in New Aswan City, as well as the development of the corniche and the Gulf area and landscaping of the tourist walkway in Al Lisan in Ras Al Barr in Damietta Governorate.
