Arab Contractors Company signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the tramway project in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela – Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company and the Burundian Minister of Infrastructure, signed the agreement in the presence of Dr. Yasser El Sharkawy - Chairman of the Egyptian African Businessmen Association, and Eng. Hassan Hassoun - Managing Director of the Congolese Arab Contractors Company. The signing of the agreement comes within the framework of joint efforts to export the Egyptian contracting industry to African markets and the expansion plan adopted by Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, as well as the efforts of the Egyptian African Businessmen Association and joint coordination, which resulted in a visit to Burundi and a meeting with the Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye and senior officials to review the opportunities available to Egyptian companies. On the sidelines of the visit, the First Lady of Burundi received Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela and Eng. Hassan Hassoun and explored the experience of the Arab Contractors Company in establishing hospitals inside Egypt and abroad, besides its experience in managing hospitals through the Arab Contractors Medical Center. They discussed the possibility of establishing a framework for cooperation between the Arab Contractors Company and the medical sector in Burundi.
