Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Dr. Ayman El Shehabi - Damietta Governor, inspected the development and rehabilitation project of the entrance road to Damietta from Shatta, and the wastewater projects of Shatt Gariba and Shatta 1, which are being implemented by the Arab Contractors Company.
They were accompanied during the visit by Dr. Sayed Ismail - Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Major Gen. Ihab Khedr - Chairman of the National Authority for Water and Wastewater, Eng. Hassan Mustafa - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Osama Nawar – AC Executive Board Member, and Eng. Rami Moukhtar – Manager of North Delta Branch, who explained that work is ongoing to develop and rehabilitate the entrance road to Damietta from Shatta, so that each direction will have 3 traffic lanes with a width of 3.3 meters per lane, with a total of 10.7 meters for each direction, in addition to a service lane with a width of 3.5 meters in the right direction from Damietta to Port Said. In addition to the sidewalks and the central island work, the total width will reach 30 meters. Besides, the electrical and agricultural works, rain drainage, and development of the entrance.
The branch manager stated that the Wastewater Project of Shatt Gariba consists of a 7-meter diameter lift station, warehouse operations, including a generator canopy and transformer bases, an 800 mm diameter force main with a 205 km length, which is completed, and a gravity network with a length of 8 km. The gravity networks project in Shatta 1 at the social housing consists of a 12-meter internal and 14-meter external diameter lift station, a 600 mm force main with a length of 2800 meters, and a gravity complex with a diameter of 500 mm and 800 mm with a length of 1900 meters and a depth of 7 meters to serve Shatta area and cancel 2 lift stations and operate their existing networks based on the gravity complex directly.
