Eng. Sherif El Sherbini - Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, inspected the work progress in the development and revival project of Azbakeya Park and its components in Cairo Governorate, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Housing as part of the Khedivial Cairo development projects in Cairo Governorate, within the framework of the state’s plan to develop historic Cairo to restore its fascinating splendor, perform its historical, cultural and civilizational role. He was accompanied by officials from the Ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, Eng. Mohamed Elwi – Executive Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Khaled Rayan - Manager of the Distinguished Buildings Department.
Eng. Sherif El Sherbini and his companions toured the various components of the park to see the implementation status of all its elements, the supply and installation status of the various components. He underscored the importance of accelerating the fulfillment rates to finalize the upgrade project and overhaul the park with high-level quality for its inauguration to the public, to be a breathing space and a park for the residents of Cairo.
The Minister of Housing explained that the project to develop and revitalize Azbakeya Park in Cairo Governorate includes (the lake - the historic fountain - the Roman theater - the pergola - the cafeteria - the restaurant - the walls and other works), and the development addresses 3 axes, which are: preserving valuable heritage trees and the hill area, in addition to renovating some components of the garden such as the archaeological fountain, the Fencing Club and reviving the lake, the open theater, the cafeteria building, the walls and the heritage pergolas.
