The Algerian Minister of Health, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi, visited the Pediatric Oncology Center at the University Hospital Center in Bab El Oued, which was implemented by the Arab Contractors Company, Algeria Branch, as part of strengthening and improving health institutions. The Minister inspected the new expansions of the center, which included adding 40 beds for pediatric neurosurgery and 40 beds for pediatric surgeries. This comes within the framework of the Algerian President’s interest in supporting the medical system related to pediatrics. Eng. Sayed Al Wazir - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company who supervises the company’s branch in Algeria, pointed out that the company has implemented this medical facility according to the highest specifications and quality standards. It includes 3 departments: pediatric oncology, pediatric surgery, and pediatric neurosurgery; with a total capacity of 140 beds. On the other hand, Eng. Darem Debsi - Head of the Sector, and Eng. Mohamed El Shoubry - Branch Manager, explained that the hospital consists of 7 floors (basement, ground floor, and 5 typical floors) and covers an area of 8,000 m2. The total area of the technical buildings is 950 m2 for transformer chambers, generators, central air conditioning, and medical gases. Eng. Karim Raafat - Project Manager, Eng. Ramez Magdy - Technical Affairs Manager, Eng. Haitham Nader - Mechanical Affairs Manager, and Mr. Alaa Al Zoughbi - Financial Manager, pointed out that the project contains 7 operating rooms, a radiology center, a specialized pharmacy, and the hospital contains all electromechanical systems (central air conditioning, low current systems, firefighting, and medical gases).
