Sherif El-Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, inspected New Aswan Drinking Water Purification Plant to follow up on the work progress He was accompanied by Dr. Sayed Ismail - Deputy Minister, Dr. Amr Lashee - Deputy Governor of Aswan, Eng. Amin Ghoneim - Vice Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Cities and Development Sector, Dr. Mohamed Hassan - CEO of the Drinking Water, Sanitation, and Consumer Protection Regulatory Authority (EWRA), Eng. Ahmed Abdel Azim - Chairman of the New Aswan City Authority, and officials of the Authority and the Minister’s technical office. The Minister was accompanied by Eng. Hassan Mustafa - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Sayed Hassan – AC Executive Board Member, Eng. Yasser Mahsoub - Head of South Valley and Red Sea Sector, Eng. Mahmoud Younes - Head of the Sector and Manager of South Valley Branch; and the branch’s deputy managers. The Minister of Housing toured the various components of New Aswan Drinking Water Purification Plant and followed up on the SCADA system for control and monitoring, and the work progress in the laboratory to ensure the results of the samples being analyzed through the various work phases in the drinking water system and the quality assurance of the produced drinking water. He also inspected the work progress of the purification phases in the plant. The Minister gave directions to adhere to the standard of the operation and maintenance work at New Aswan Drinking Water Purification Plant, to provide drinking water services according to the highest quality in accordance with international standards, to maintain the condition of the plant, and to pay attention to the landscape.
