The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards 2024 ceremony was held in Cairo, to honor the best achievements and building and construction projects in Egypt, with the participation of major contracting companies and consulting offices of various nationalities operating in the Egyptian market.
The ceremony began with a special honoring of the name of the late Eng. Hossam El Din Al Rifi - Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, in appreciation of his long and distinguished career in the company and his important contributions to many major projects implemented by the company, the most important of which is Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant and Dam in Tanzania and New Delta Water Treatment Plant, and considering him one of the most important influencers in the construction industry in Egypt.
Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, appreciated honoring the name of Eng. Hossam El Din Al Rifi, one of the company’s loyal sons, as he is one of the company’s pillars and its men who have dedicated their lives so that the company will always remain at the forefront. He also dedicated the awards that the company received this year to his pure soul. He stressed that his name will continue to resonate in the world of contracting as one of the prominent names in this field.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the board members of the Arab Contractors Company: Eng. Ayman Attia, Eng. Ahmed El Adalany, Eng. Hassan Moustafa, Eng. Heba Abu Al Ela, Eng. Dina Adel, a number of the AC’s executive board members, and heads of sectors.
The Arab Contractors Company won the “Smart City Initiative of the Year” award for the Green Transportation Network of the New Administrative Capital - 'The Monorail & the Light Rail Transit (LRT)', which were implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport (National Authority for Tunnels), to achieve the goals of sustainable development in the New Administrative Capital, to be a smart city, committed to the standards of 4G cities, and an important regional center supporting the Egyptian economy. The award was received by Eng. Hassan Ibraheem – AC Executive Board Member.
The project of Greater Cairo Metro Line 3 - Phase 3A & 3B, which was implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport (National Authority for Tunnels), won MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing) Project of the Year. The project was inaugurated recently, and the jury praised it, saying that it represents a prominent achievement in developing infrastructure and decreasing traffic congestion in Cairo and Giza. Besides, there were many project challenges, which the Arab Contractors Company was able to successfully overcome. Those challenges were represented in the complexity and difficulty of work within the scope of the large project, which extends over a length of 17.7 km and in crowded areas with a high population density and vital facilities surrounding the work sites. The award was received by Eng. Abdel Aziz Ahmed – Project Manager of Cairo Metro Line 3 Phase 3.
The company also received a special certificate of appreciation from the jury (Highly Commended) in the Contractor of the Year award.
Eng. Ahmed El Adalany – AC Board Member also received a Highly Commended Certificate of Appreciation from the jury in the (Director of the Year) category in honor of his efforts, professional career, and contributions to the development of the company’s business inside Egypt and abroad.
