The New Delta Wastewater Treatment Plant has been awarded 4 Guinness World Records

Within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi – President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to exploit wasted and untapped agricultural drainage water to overcome the water deficit, the Armed Forces celebrated the acquisition of the New Delta Wastewater Treatment Plant, which was implemented by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and a JV of major national companies (the Arab Contractors Company - Orascom - Hassan Allam - Metito) has been awarded four Guinness World Records as the largest water treatment facility 320,000m2, the largest water treatment plant 86,8 m3 per second, the largest epoxy coating in a building 520,000 m2, and the largest sludge treatment plant capacity 670,01 kg per second. This was in the presence of Dr. Hani Sewliam - Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Major General Ahmed Ali Al Azzazi - the Chief of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, representatives of Guinness and the companies implementing the project. During the celebration organized by Guinness World Records to hand over the awards, Major General Ahmed Ali Al Azzazi - the Chief of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, delivered a speech conveying the greetings and appreciation of General Mohamed Zaki - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Osama Askar - Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, to the attendees, pointing out that the the New Delta Wastewater Treatment Plant’s obtaining these certificates comes as a culmination of the efforts made by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority and the companies involved in the design, implementation and operation, stressing that the project is an achievement to gain added value for the irrigation system in Egypt. Dr. Hani Sewliam - Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, gave a speech in which he expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority and all participants in the project. He also reviewed Egypt’s water situation and the projects the state is implementing to maximize the use of water, stressing the importance of this project to build integrated, sustainable communities in agricultural areas. He pointed out the efforts to renew the irrigation system in Egypt for the second generation of irrigation systems, so that Egypt places itself among the list of countries that value water through rationalization and recycling. The celebration was attended by Eng. Hossam El Din Al Rifi – Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, who received the company’s honor, and Eng. Ahmed El Adalany – AC Board Member, who received Guinness World Records’ certificate. The representative of Guinness World Records also gave a speech in which she expressed her happiness for providing certificates for this giant project, praising the construction boom that Egypt is witnessing, and hoping that Egyptian projects will achieve more new records. The celebration concluded with the handing over of certificates and honoring the international companies and the JV of the companies executing the project.
