Major General Eng. Maged Abdel Hamid - Vice Chairman of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, accompanied by Eng. Eid Yehia - Head of the Central Administration – 10th District in Aswan and Eng. Heba Abul Ella –Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company visited the Alternative Axis for Aswan Reservoir to follow up on the implementation status of the project. This was in the presence of a number of officials, including Eng.Ayman Abdo – Executive Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company and Head of the Bridges and Foundations Sector, Eng. Ahmed Oreiba -Supervisor of the Alternative Axis for Aswan Reservoir and Daraw Bridge, Eng. Mostafa Gomaa - Project Manager of the Alternative Axis for Aswan Reservoir Bridge Project, and Eng. Hossam Abdel Qader - Manager of Daraw Axis Project.
The Arab Contractors Company, under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, is implementing the second sector of the alternative axis for Aswan reservoir. It consists of a concrete bridge on the Nile; 14 axes, with a length of 676m and a width of 29m. It has 3 lanes on each side, and the opening of the navigation is 180m wide.
The axis transfers the traffic from the reservoir body to the new axis to maintain the reservoir and extend its lifespan. In addition to these, it is creating new development areas west of the Nile and linking the residential, industrial, and agricultural development areas east and west of the Nile, providing business opportunities, facilitating the movement of citizens, and serving development projects.
