During his tour to follow up on the projects implemented by the Ministry in Dakahlia and Sharqia Governorates, Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel El Wazir - Minister of Transport, accompanied by Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab – Sharkia Goveror, Major General El Said Abdel Moaty – Governor Consultant for Projects, inspected Orabi Tunnel Project under the railway, which is being implemented by the Arab Contractors Company. Its implementation rate reached 99% and contributes to connecting the east and west of Zagazig to achieve the required traffic flow. It represents a qualitative leap in improving the infrastructure and creating an important traffic axis, as well as contributing to achieving traffic flow in the capital of Sharkia Governorate.
During their inspection of the project, the Minister and the Governor were accompanied by the leaders of the Ministry of Transport and the executive leaders of Sharkia Governorate, Eng. Sayed El Wazir – Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Osama Nawar – AC Executive Board Member, Eng. Ali Abdel Aleem – Manager of the East and Central Delta Branch, Eng. Milad Attia – Area Manager, Eng. Mohammed Nabih - Project Manager, and Eng. Sami Ramadan – Project Manager who explained that Orabi Tunnel is 350 meters long, consisting of 200 meters without a ceiling in each direction and 150 meters closed under the railway lines. The tunnel contains a total of 4 traffic lanes (2 lanes in each direction, with an average width of 14 to 20 meters).
