Aswan witnessed a big celebration during which the hotel of Viking Aton was inaugurated, the newest, state-of-the-art floating hotel belonging to Viking Cruise. Viking Aton was manufactured at Massara Shipyard, which belongs to the Arab Contractors Company.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ghada Shalaby - Vice Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and a number of officials.
Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, indicated that the Arab Contractors Company works in the field of manufacturing floating hotels and has great experiences and huge capabilities. He pointed out that it has established many floating hotels as well as maintained them in the AC’s shipyards in Massara, Aswan, or Ismailia. Eng. Ayman Attia – AC Board Member, on behalf of Eng. Ahmed El Assar, expressed the company's pride in supporting the tourism industry in Egypt through the manufacture of new floating hotels to accommodate the tourist movement.
Eng. Ahmed El Assar thanked the Viking Chairman for his great trust in the Arab Contractors Company and the continued cooperation between the two companies, through which AC is building floating hotels for Viking.
In his speech, Mr. Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking Cruises, praised the future of tourism in Egypt and thanked the Arab Contractors Company for the commitment and great quality that characterize its work in the field of manufacturing floating hotels.
A large number of foreign dignitaries in the field of international tourism attended the inauguration ceremony, including Mr. Mohamed El Banna, Mr. Sherif El Banna, Cosmos Egypt CEO, Eng. Hassan Moustafa – AC Board Member, Eng. Khaled Eissa – Executive Board Member, Eng. Ahmed Eissa – Head of Manufacturing Sector, Eng. Osama El Desouki – Manager of Massara Shipyard, which implemented the works, and Eng. Alaa Abdel Hameed – Deputy Manager of Technical Affairs.
"Viking Aton" Cruise is the newest tourist facility on the Nile River, with a total length of 72 m, 14.5 m width, 10.30 m height, and a weight of 750 tons. It includes 41 rooms and suites.
