Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, inaugurated Al Zaafaran Palace Museum on the main campus of the university.
The inauguration was in the presence of Dr. Abdel Fattah Saoud - Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ayman Saleh - Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ghada Farouk - Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the ambassadors of Italy and Slovenia, a group of university leaders, former ministers, ambassadors and public figures, Eng. Hossam El Din El Rifi – Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, which implemented the restoration work of Al Zaafaran Palace, Eng. Tarek Khedr – Board Member of the AC, Eng. Emam Afifi - former Vice Chairman of the AC, and Eng. Ali Abdel Samad - Member of the Executive Board of the company and Head Sector of construction and specialized work.
It is worth noting that the Arab Contractors Company implemented the development and fine restoration works, which included finishing and electromechanical work, as well as fine restoration work of the archaeological void spaces in the basement of the palace "the museum’s headquarters", as well as the ground and electromechanical work of the palace, as well as civil work, finishes, and agricultural work in the general site around the palace, in addition to alarm and fire systems, anti-theft systems, and conditioning systems.
The inauguration was attended by Eng. Taha Diab - Manager of Palaces and Monuments Restoration Department, Eng. Mohamed Khader – Manager of the Electrical Works Department, Eng. Salam Rashad - Manager of the Electromechanical Works Department for Public Buildings and Utilities, Eng. Ahmed Osman – Deputy Manager of Palaces and Monuments Restoration Department, Eng. Yasmine Nasr - Projects Manager at the Department, and Eng. Hassan Ibrahim - Project Manager.
