Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO & Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, stated that the company accomplished the manufacturing of one of the new floating hotels, within its shipyard in Massara and declared that the new unit will operate between Luxor and Aswan to serve the tourism sector in Egypt, which is witnessing great support and interest from the Egyptian state for its a positive impact on the economy. He added that this is evidence of the confidence of foreign investment in Egypt and the increase in demand to visit it and enjoy its tourism potential.
Eng. Sayed Farouk added that the Arab Contractors are currently manufacturing floating hotels (Sobek) and (Hathor) for Viking International, which is one of the largest companies in the world in the field of organizing trips in floating hotels in rivers and seas.
For his part, Eng. Sayed Farouk welcomed the fruitful and continuous cooperation with Viking International, which reflects the great and mutual trust, pointing out that the cooperation between the two companies is witnessing a great launch in the construction of floating hotels, among which was the hotel (Viking Osiris), which is also owned by the company and was opened recently.
In a grand celebration, Mr. Torstein Hagen - Chairman of Viking Cruises, pushed the button, the ship lift moved down, and Viking Aton is floating in the Nile River. The completion of the interior decoration works will continue, and the hotel will join the company's global fleet working on Nile cruises. Mr. Hagen and Eng. Sayed Farouk also signed a memorandum of understanding for the manufacture of 4 new floating hotels. In his speech, Mr. Torstein Hagen praised the Arab Contractors Company for its commitment and quality in the field of manufacturing floating hotels, emphasizing that Egypt occupies an important place on the global tourism map.?
The ceremony and the signing of the MOU were in the presence of Mr. Tony Hoffman - Vice President of Viking, Mr. Mohamed El Banna, Mr. Sherif El Banna, from the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Khaled Eissa – Executive Board Member, Eng. Ahmed Eissa – Head of Manufacturing Sector and Eng. Osama El Desouki – Manager of Massara Shipyard, who explained that the floating hotel (Viking Aton) consists of 4 floors (72 x 14.5 x 13m), and it is considered one of the latest international designs in floating hotels in the Nile River. It has been designed and implemented to keep up with the latest energy-saving and environmentally friendly shipbuilding technology according to the requirements of the Lloyd's Register and the Egyptian River Navigation Authority.
It is worth noting that Massara Shipyard is one of the industrial castles of the Arab Contractors Company, along with its long history of manufacturing floating hotels and restaurants, carrying out integrated maintenance work for the river units. Besides, its participation in the manufacturing and installation of the metal sectors for the mega and national projects that were implemented by the company.?
