The Transport Minister tours "InnoTrans 2022"

On the second day of his visit to Germany, Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir - the Minister of Transport, visited InnoTrans 2022, the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology", where he and the accompanying delegation (the Chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels, the Head of the Railways Authority, the Assistant Minister for Railways, the Chairman of Orascom Construction, and leaders of the Arab Contractors Company) toured a number of pavilions, including that of Egypt’s Orascom company. The Minister praised the role played by Egyptian companies in implementing national projects in various fields, including the transport sector. He also inspected the pavilion of the Germany-based Siemens AG technology company. On the fringes of the fair, the Minister held a series of meetings with the heads of companies contracted to carry out transport projects in Egypt. The Minister met with the chairman of Siemens Company to agree on the executive steps for implementing Egypt’s three-line high-speed electric railway network. He also held meetings with officials from Caterpillar Inc's Progress Rail to supply 50 new tractors and update 50 old Henschel tractors, as well as the 41 tractors previously supplied, in addition to the maintenance contract for 141 tractors. He met with the Spanish train manufacturer Talgo to supply a number of passenger trains and 7 sleeper trains. The Minister met with Thales Group to develop railway signalling systems and CAF, a Spanish train manufacturer, to refurbish 23 trains for Cairo Metro Line 1. At the end of the day, Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir - the Minister of Transport, will participate in the Rail Leaders Summit, in the presence of a large number of transport ministers from around the world and heads of railway companies.
