Dr. Assem El Gazzar – Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities congratulated the Arab Contractors for gaining several awards from MEED Magazine in its 11th edition. The company submitted 22 projects in the competition, 7 projects won at the national level and 3 projects at Middle East level, 11 of its projects submitted to the finalist were selected, it is as follows: The Arab Contractors gained the project of the year at Middle East and North Africa level for Bahr El Baqar Water Treatment Plant, which implemented under the supervision of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority. At Middle East level: The AC gained special award for the execution of 78 buildings “full finishing” at the 3rd residential district at the New Administrative Capital, which implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities and New Urban Communities Authority. Besides, the Arab Contractors Company and Orascom Construction won the transport project of the year for Cairo Metro Line 3 Phase 4B, which executed under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport and National Tunnel Authority. In addition to the award of the water project of the year for Bahr El Baqar Water Treatment Plant, which implemented under the supervision of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority. On the national level: The Arab Contractors Company won 8 awards for its projects inside and outside Egypt for the following: Nuwaiseeb Road Project in Kuwait, Cancer Hospital for Children in Bab El Oued in Algeria, the Injuries and Emergency Hospital in Assiut University, Coastal Hotel at El Galala Resort, Bahr El Baqar Water Treatment Plant, Restoration and Documentation of Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue and Cairo Metro Line 3 Phase 4B. The Arab Contractors reached the “Finalist” for the Engineer of the Year, Eng. Mofida Allam - Road Consultant and Supervisor of the Laboratories Sector; and the sustainability project at the Middle East level and the innovation project, by submitting a search for the reuse of asphalt crushed materials as base layers in the construction of roads.
