Dr. Moustafa Madbouli – Prime Minister praised the announcement of Engineering News Record (ENR), a leading global industry publication that 4 Egyptian projects have been selected as winners in the 9th Global Best Projects Competition 2021. This year’s competition featured projects from 21 different countries in 18 different fields in the construction and building industry. The Prime Minister pointed out that Egypt’s winning in the 2020 and 2021 versions of the competition is a testament to the success of the Egyptian will in implementing mega projects in various fields and in record time, achieving a swift development leap and paving the way for the new republic. He thanked the Arab Contractors Company “Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.” and Orascom Construction and their workers for this effort and achievement, which has become a source of pride for all Egyptians. He stated that our national companies have acquired global capabilities in this sector. Egypt was the only country to win 4 awards in the competition among a list of 30 winning projects, as it won the best global project in the category water/wastewater for Bahr El Baqar Water Treatment Plant which was inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and implemented by the JV of Arab Contractors and Orascom Construction under the supervision of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority. In addition to the best global project in restoration and documentation for Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue in Alexandria which was implemented by the Arab Contractors under the supervision of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority . Egypt won the best global project in rail/transit projects for Cairo Metro Line 3 - Phase 4B which executed by JV of Arab Contractors and Orascom Construction under the supervision of the National authority for Tunnels – Ministry of Transport and in the category of government building for the Parliament Building in the New Administrative Capital which implemented by the Arab Contractors under the supervision of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
