Dr. Khaled Al Anani – the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Moukhtar Gomaa – Minister of Awqaf inaugurated Al Fath Mosque in Abdeen after its restoration. This was in the presence of the deputies of Cairo Governor, Eng. Mohsen Salah – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Dr. Moustafa Wazeery – Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Brigadier Gen. Hesham Samir – Assistant of the Tourism and Antiquities Minister for Engineering Affairs, Eng. Emam Afifi – Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Dr. Gamal Moustafa – Head of Sector for Islamic, Coptic and Jewish Monuments, Eng. Waad Allah Aboul Ella – Head of the Projects Sector in the Ministry, Eng. Magdy Abou Eid – Head of the Central Department for the Engineering Affairs in Awqaf , Eng. Samir El Shal – Head of Services Sector in Awqaf, Eng. Tarek Khedr – Head of the Construction and Specialized Works Sector, Eng. Taha Diab – Manager of Monument Restoration Department, Eng. Ali Abdel Samad – Manafer of the Civil Works Department, deputies of the Manager of the Monument Restoration Department Eng. Tarek Yehia, Eng. Ahmed Osman and Eng. Mohammed Hesham, Eng. Jackleen Sameer – Projects Manager in Monument Restoration Department, Eng. Karim Mohamed – Project Manager, Eng. Diaa El Sayed – Manager of the Technical Office for the projects in Monument Restoration Department and Eng. Ahmed El Ettr – Manager of Equipment Affairs. Dr. Moukhtar Gomaa – the Awqaf Minister gave Friday sermon, in which he dealt with the tolerance in Islam and the acceptance of the other, indicating that Egypt is a building country … by restoring and preserving different places of worship, it only confirms the message of construction and sends it to the whole world. The restoration works reached about 16 million EGP; it is implemented by the Arab Contractors Company represented by the Monument Restoration Department with the specialized departments. the completed works are the interior works of the mosque which includes the marble floor in the courtyard of the mosque, the restoration and cleaning of the marble cladding for the walls, cleaning and restoration of the minbar, mihrab, marble and granite columns in mosque; interior domes and vaults, ornamental works, installation of the sound systems, interior lighting units and surveillance cameras. In addition to the exterior works of the mosque, there are the cleaning of the facades and minaret’s stone, cooper domes of the roofs, Isolating of the roof tiles, installation works of stone floors in the general site inside the mosque and the main entrance and completing the external lighting works. It is a noteworthy that the mosque's layout is a basic square which a dome is located. 3 blocks of buildings from the western, southern and eastern sides annexed to it with corridors, hallways and rooms to serve the multi purposes of the mosque. The main facade of the mosque in the western side overlooks the garden of Abdeen Palace and its height is 15.70m. In the middle of the western side there is the royal entrance for the mosque and the minaret is in the southeastern side of the mosque.
