Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir inspected the implementation rates of Cairo Metro Line 3 – Phase 4 and LRT

Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir – the Minister of Transport accompanied by Dr. Essam Wali – Head of the National Authority for Tunnels were in inspection tour to follow up the implementation rates of Cairo Metro Line 3 – Phase 4 which is a joint venture project between the Arab Contractors Company and Orascom. During the tour, the Minister of Transport held a meeting with the officials from the NAT and the executing companies for Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Cairo Metro Line 3 – Phase 4. They explored the landscaping of Adly Mansour interchange station which is considered a model for Multimodal Transport " Cairo Metro Line 3 - phase 4B / LRT).
The Minister praised the work progress and gave his directions towards working all the time and being committed to the time schedule of each project. He pointed out that these projects has a great importance to facilitate the transportation of the citizens especially in the light of the great concern of the Egyptian government represented by the Ministry of Transportation to maximize the mass transit system whither inside the Greater Cairo or from Cairo to the new cities. Then, the Minister inspected the construction works for Haykesteb and Nozha stations; for the first time, he was riding a test locomotive on the track to watch the works in action. He met with the engineers and technicians there. He stressed on the necessity of finalizing the implementation of the followings: Heliopolis station which is considered one of the biggest stations in the Middle East and Africa by the next October; Nozha and Hisham Barakat stations 1 and 2 by the next December and the stations of part 1 and part 2 from phase 4 till Adly Mansour by the coming April.  The minister was welcomed and accompanied during the tour by the officials from the ministry and the NAT, Eng. Eman Soliman – Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Ahmed Shawki –Commercial Manager for the JV, Eng. Hassan Ibrahim –Manager of JVs Department, Eng. Abdel Hay Badawy – the Project Manager from the Bridges Department of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Hazem Hassan – Project Manager of Adly Mansour Station, Eng. Khaled Tawfik – Project Manager of LRT in Adly Mansour and Eng. Ahmed Khalf – Project Manager of Haykesteb station. It is a noteworthy that Cairo Metro Line 3 – Phase 4B is about an elevated track from Hisham Barakat station (El Nozha 2 previously) nearby Badr Garden on Gisr El Suez Road in Heliopolis till Adly Mansour Station nearby 10th Ramadan Bus Station with a total length 7.4km and total number of stations is 6 stations: Heliopolis - El Nozha – Hisham Barakat – Qobaa – Omar ibn El Khatab – Haykesteb – Adly Mansour interchange station. The Gow repairing workshop behind Adly Mansour station is built upon 65 feddans in Military Factory 81, this workshop is considered the biggest one in Africa. The LRT project (Adly Mansour – New Administrative Capital – 10th Ramadan) is carried out by JV of Egyptian companies led by the Arab Contractors Company which will execute 3 elevated stations which is: Adly Mansour – New Heliopolis – Al Robeky, part of the New Administrative Capital's Bridge with a length of 2000m and Heliopolis tunnel with a length of 33m.
