Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab – Presidential Assistant for National
and Strategic Projects, and the former Prime Minister during his participation in
"National Projects" Conference at Assiut University, which included a
presentation of the most important projects in Egypt within the last period. The
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi established huge national projects that
contribute to advancing the development process. The regions were divided into
8 development regions, starting with the central capital, Delta and Upper Egypt,
besides the work in El Jalala Mountain - the Golden Triangle – Dabaa Nuclear
Plant. In addition to the national road network with a total area of ??7,000
kilometers which was paved. He stressed that the roads are the artery of
development to exploit 70% of Egypt's land area, which has not been exploited
in the past.
Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab said that the most important projects in
the infrastructure, including Rod El Farg Corridor, Suez Canal Tunnels,
Development of the Suez Canal Corridor, traditional energy projects: Dabaa Plant
- Solar Power Plants – New Assiut Barrage which includes the Hydropower Plant
and the higher bridge linking between the East and West of the River Nile.
Eng. Mahlab added that: "The volume of national
projects implemented during the past four years amounted to 3,195 projects at a
cost of 667 billion pounds, and the completion of 1,229 projects at a cost of
LE 1,575 billion is underway, bringing the total of national projects to 4424
projects that contribute to the real development in different regions of the
Republic. On the other hand, Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, Assiut Governor and the AC Company's
leaders inspected the project of the new Assiut barrage and its hydroelectric
station and navigational locks to follow up the work progress of the project
which is implemented by the Arab Contractors and aiming to improve irrigation
in the territory of the Central Egypt.
